Gujarat’s economic ambitions hit the international spotlight as a delegation, including Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi, sets off for Davos and the World Economic Forum. The core message: ‘Viksit Gujarat 2047’ – a roadmap to make the state a global hub by India’s centennial independence year.
From January 19 to 23, Davos-Klosters hosts the WEF, where Gujarat aims to forge partnerships for investments and youth jobs. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a calculated push to elevate the state’s global profile.
Addressing the media, Sanghvi noted Gujarat’s investor magnet status over the years. With CM Bhupendra Patel at the helm, the priority is amplifying job creation. ‘Today, our team carries Viksit Gujarat 2047 to the world’s biggest stage,’ he stated.
The itinerary targets electronics, defense, semis, renewables, and other high-growth sectors over four intense days. Gujarat’s investor-friendly ecosystem has earned it top rankings, with sustained focus on industrial and employment growth.
Over 58 elite meetings await, delving into advanced manufacturing, textiles, semiconductors, emerging tech, pharmaceuticals, green energy, food processing, chemicals, shipping-logistics, electronics, and aerospace.
Objectives are clear: strengthen industry infrastructure, expand tech alliances, pull in global funds, and create jobs at scale for the youth. This aligns seamlessly with national development goals.
As negotiations unfold, Gujarat stands poised to secure game-changing deals that could redefine its economic trajectory through 2047.
