National Highway-9 turned into a scene of devastation in Amroha when a car plowed into a motorcycle, killing a teenage rider on the spot and injuring his friend gravely. The mishap unfolded near Joya, disrupting the vital artery linking major cities.
Local boy Etisham, aged 17 from Nilikhedi, and Masoom Hasan were en route to their village from Joya on the bike. A recklessly speeding car hit them from behind, causing a catastrophic crash. The bike riders skidded across the asphalt, as the car veered, crashed into the divider, and rolled over.
Tragically, Etisham perished immediately. Masoom was quickly transported to hospital by good Samaritans, battling life-threatening injuries.
The accident snarled traffic for hours, with queues stretching far on either side of the road. Law enforcement swiftly intervened, securing the area, postmortem procedures for the victim, and clearing obstructions to resume flow.
