Late-night shootouts rocked Bulandshahr and Kanpur as Uttar Pradesh Police clashed with armed gangs, apprehending four high-value targets. The operations, marked by daring chases and retaliatory fire, have bolstered confidence in the force’s ability to maintain order.
In Bulandshahr, the drama started during a vehicle inspection at Aligarh Chowk. Three bike-borne suspects from Bulandshahr bolted upon sighting police, leading to a pursuit along Karnavas Road. Their bike flipped, trapping them. In a bid to escape, they unleashed bullets, met with firm police response that left two injured. Captured were Muradabad’s Honey and Anuj Verma, plus Arvind Nishad of Gorakhpur—all with pending cases in Anupshahr, including a bold Rs 1 lakh heist last year.
Illegal guns and the motorcycle were confiscated, alongside Rs 25,000 bounties per head. This haul disrupts a persistent threat to local security.
Kanpur’s Rawatpur saw parallel action, where Niyaz Ahmad alias Chhutkan from Gonda was shot in the leg. Fleeing accomplices remain at large. The suspect owned up to chaining an old lady in Keshavpuram on January 8. Seized: pistol, bullets, and money.
Experts note these encounters reflect heightened vigilance post recent crime spikes. As probes deepen, UP Police aim to unravel connections, ensuring safer streets for all. The state’s commitment to justice shines through such resolute interventions.
