Tragedy struck near a high school in Vietnam’s Hue city Thursday when a truck collided head-on with three electric bicycles, resulting in two immediate fatalities: a high school student and an unidentified woman. Emergency services responded swiftly, transporting a surviving injured party to the hospital while police cordoned off the area for forensic analysis.

In a separate catastrophe, flames ravaged an electronics outlet in Dong Nai’s southern reaches early Thursday morning. Ignited around 5 a.m., the fire spread with ferocious speed due to highly flammable stock, trapping and killing a 26-year-old mother and her infant son. Rescuers also saved one injured individual from the smoldering ruins.

The northern province of Son La witnessed its own heartbreak on January 17, as a passenger bus with 18 occupants flipped after striking a drainage barrier during a rain-soaked, foggy morning. Four lives were lost, and one person was hurt in the chaos. Remarkably, the driver’s tests showed no traces of alcohol or narcotics, with weather conditions cited as a primary factor.

Central Vietnam’s Thang Hoa-Hanoi expressway became a scene of devastation on January 14, where two heavy tractor-trailers and a 15-passenger coach smashed together. The pileup claimed four lives and sent six to hospitals, with extensive vehicle damage prompting questions about expressway safety protocols and maintenance.
