The Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) has ignited a nationwide golf revolution with the launch of its Golf Growth Initiative. Teaming up with IGU, PGAI, and TGF, the program was revealed Thursday at Delhi Golf Club, attended by sports luminaries.
Tennis star Leander Paes, present at the event, anticipates Olympic breakthroughs via golf development. Mentorship from veterans like Jeev Milkha Singh, Jyoti Randhawa, Shiv Kapoor, Gaganjeet Bhullar, SSP Chaurasia, and Gaurav Ghai forms the backbone, offering invaluable expertise.
The strategy? Embed golf in schools and community grounds to reach every aspiring player. IGPL’s vision: cultivate top-tier golfers to represent India proudly on the world stage.
Excitingly, new elite training centers in Gurgaon, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh will launch this year, focusing on talent scouting and advanced facilities.
Paes expressed immense pride in the partnership. Jeev Milkha Singh, a pro for over 35 years, called it just the beginning: ‘Grassroots is key; IGPL unites boys, girls, juniors—set high bars and work hard.’
Jyoti Randhawa emphasized refining young skills, expecting momentum in 2-3 years. Gaganjeet Bhullar, fresh from Paris Olympics, views it as a benchmark and dreams of medals.
This comprehensive effort positions Indian golf for exponential growth, blending accessibility, mentorship, and infrastructure for a golden future.
