The Congress high command flexed its muscles on Monday, issuing a zero-tolerance policy against factionalism and indiscipline in its Punjab chapter. Held at president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence, the crucial huddle included Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Bhupesh Baghel, Ambika Soni, PCC chief Raja Warring, Bajwa, Channi, Randhawa, Singla, Rana KP Singh, Dr. Amar Singh, and others.

Post-meeting, Venugopal briefed journalists on the productive talks centered on fortifying the party’s base. ‘Maintain absolute discipline. Internal issues stay internal—no media or social media commentary,’ he instructed firmly. Leadership change in Punjab? ‘Out of question,’ he shot down.

Responding to news of 30 leaders seeking high command meetings, Venugopal approved personal outreach but hammered home: ‘Groupism unacceptable at any price.’ He previewed Kharge and Gandhi’s Punjab visits for direct leader-high command interface.

Championing diversity, Venugopal highlighted commitments to equitable roles for SCs, STs, OBCs, and EWS in party structures nationwide. He united the narrative: ‘Congress is united. We fight as one for Punjab’s win.’ Baghel reinforced with insights on favorable public mood for Congress governance, vowing collective leadership sans factions under Kharge-Gandhi banners.

As Punjab gears up for polls, this high command clampdown aims to eradicate divisions, projecting a solid, disciplined Congress ready to reclaim power.
