Punjab’s Moga district witnessed a decisive police action against illegal arms trafficking, resulting in the arrest of notorious criminal Sukhchain Singh and the recovery of two country-made .32 bore pistols plus four live cartridges. The incident in Nihal Singh Wala underscores the relentless pursuit of law enforcers.
A crucial tip-off alerted patrolling officers to Sukhchain’s movements from Nihal Singh Wala towards Ranseh Road. Hailing from Beed Rauke, the suspect was quickly apprehended. The search revealed one pistol and two rounds, leading to his formal arrest under relevant arms legislation.
Court appearance secured two-day remand, during which Sukhchain revealed his supplier, Sharnpreet Singh alias Sharn, now a prime suspect. A subsequent raid, based on precise leads, recovered the additional weapon and ammo from a concealed spot along a drain tract linking Ranseh Khurd and Beed Rauke.
With five previous cases staining his record, Sukhchain’s capture is a boon for local security. DSP Anwar Ali elaborated on the tactical execution, affirming the campaign’s success against rogue elements. As probes deepen, authorities aim to dismantle any associated syndicates, bolstering community safety.
