Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar lit up the festive spirit with his Republic Day message on January 25, wishing the people of Kerala joy on India’s 77th Republic Day. He reflected on the historic adoption of the Constitution, celebrating its core principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that continue to unite diverse India.
Remembering freedom strugglers, valiant martyrs, and visionary Constitution makers led by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Governor saluted their legacy. He beamed with pride over Kerala’s pioneering efforts in education, healthcare, societal reforms, and human development, while lauding its hallmark ethos of peace, inclusion, and vibrant democracy.
In a stirring appeal, Arlekar urged citizens to embrace their constitutional obligations and, alongside youth, strive collectively for a wealthy, inclusive, developed Bharat by 2047. ‘Jai Hind! Jai Kerala! Vande Mataram!’ echoed his passionate close.
Nationwide, the 77th Republic Day on January 26 will dazzle with a grand parade on Delhi’s Kartavya Path, presided over by President Droupadi Murmu. Chief guests Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen from the EU add global flair.
Expect a fusion of ‘Vande Mataram’ milestone, developmental strides, swadeshi arms, military displays, cultural pageantry, and people’s energy. At 10:30 AM, PM Narendra Modi pays respects at the National War Memorial before viewing the parade. The President and dignitaries arrive ceremonially, national flag rises amid 21 cannon shots and the Anthem.
These celebrations not only honor the past but propel India towards a promising tomorrow filled with unity and ambition.
