Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside European Council chief Antonio Costa and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, hailed the culmination of India-EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations as a transformative step forward. Issued post the 16th India-EU Summit, the joint declaration positions this as a cornerstone of the bilateral strategic alliance.

This pact will fortify trade and investment corridors, nurture collective affluence, and engineer resilient supply ecosystems while championing sustainable progress. With global volatility on the rise, such alliances are indispensable for economic stability.

Reiterating WTO’s centrality, the trio advocated sweeping reforms to refine international commerce and protect diverse national stakes. India-EU relations now stand as linchpins for job creation, ecological shifts, manufacturing surges, and secure chains.

Commitment to rapid FTA execution is firm, paralleled by urgency on IPA and GI pacts. Bilateral investments and private sector roles will expand significantly. Technological complementarities drive ambitions for holistic value chain partnerships via the TTC.

Digital realms, nascent technologies, and entrepreneurial ecosystems will flourish through Innovation Hubs and Startup initiatives. The prolonged Science-Technology accord till 2030 and Horizon Europe linkages were endorsed.

Climate and clean energy collaborations accelerate, spotlighting the Green Hydrogen outfit and 2026 Wind Summit. Connectivity blueprints—including partnerships, aerial and maritime ties, plus IMEC advancements—promise expansive market access.

Excitement builds for New Delhi’s AI Impact Summit. The Business Forum saw impassioned pleas from leaders to industry heads for amplified investments, novel enterprises, and reinforced trade bonds, paving way for enduring success.
