Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin delivered a compelling message on gender-inclusive development Tuesday, addressing the Global Women Summit in Chennai.

He reaffirmed commitments to resilient infrastructure and societal structures under the DMK regime. Central to the trillion-dollar economy target, Stalin positioned women as key drivers of progress.

“Half the population cannot be overlooked for true advancement,” he remarked. “Women’s engagement and leadership are prerequisites for sustainability.”

Policies must tackle deep-rooted challenges in learning, work, and enterprise for women, he urged. Spotlighting the transformative Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam – aiding 1.3 crore women with Rs 1,000 monthly – Stalin called it the bedrock of welfare schemes.

The state leads India in women’s workforce involvement, attracting queries from prospective investors on female hiring. Stalin applauded companies setting aside positions for women, signaling a welcome shift.

Honoring Dravidian pioneers, he cited Periyar’s emphasis on female upliftment. Karunanidhi advanced this through equal inheritance laws, police integration, and local body reservations for women.

Amid international discussions, Stalin’s speech highlighted Tamil Nadu’s strides in empowerment. This approach not only boosts economy but fosters equity, ensuring development benefits all, with women at the forefront of tomorrow’s successes.
