Parliament’s Budget Session launched formally on January 28 in New Delhi, highlighted by President Droupadi Murmu’s inspiring address to both houses. Structured in two parts extending to April 2, 2026, it precedes the budget tabling by Finance Minister on February 1 morning. Tensions brew as opposition gears up to scrutinize government policies.

Expressing delight at speaking to Parliament, President Murmu recalled the previous year as memorable for India’s swift strides and cultural homage. The 150-year milestone of ‘Vande Mataram’ prompted tributes to Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, applauded through parliamentary proceedings.

Invoking Ambedkar’s legacy on equality and justice, she reaffirmed the Constitution’s ethos of equal opportunities for every Indian, free from prejudice.

Past decade’s social justice drive has freed over 250 million from poverty, with accelerated poor-empowerment programs in the current term showcasing commitment.

Entering 2026, India reflects on a century’s first quarter of extraordinary feats. The last 10-11 years strengthened core pillars, making this year pivotal for developed nation aspirations.

Income tax overhaul marks history by freeing ₹12 lakh annual income from slabs, granting unparalleled relief to masses and spurring economic vitality.
