Relief floods in for Punjab commuters as the Central Government sanctions rail overbridges for Doraha and Dhuri. Sharing the announcement on X, MoS Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu called it a pivotal moment in the state’s infrastructure evolution, thanking the Centre for prioritizing these key projects.

Trapped in political limbo for decades, with locals staging endless protests, the initiatives now break free. Bittu highlighted their role in knitting roads seamlessly while fueling economic vitality across Punjab.

At Rs 70 crore, Doraha’s ROB in Ludhiana targets crossing 164A on the Ambala-Ludhiana corridor. Daily train halts choke the area with jams, wasting precious hours and risking lives. The overbridge will usher in fluid movement, slashing delays and hazards.

Dhuri in Sangrur allocates Rs 54 crore for its ROB in the Bathinda section, complete with approved GADs. The level crossing’s closures divide the city, spawning hours-long chaos that hits schools, shops, and schedules hard—impacting over 100,000 souls.

Costing Rs 124 crore together, these bridges fortify Punjab’s foundational framework. They promise amplified trade, efficient logistics, and simplified living. Bittu’s gratitude to the Centre reflects optimism for accelerated growth, marking a new chapter in regional advancement.
