Beijing – The world is sounding the alarm on America’s diplomatic direction, according to a major CGTN survey of global web users. A staggering 90.7% rebuked the US for dodging its global governance obligations while chasing supremacy, viewing it as quintessential domineering diplomacy.

High-profile exits from the WHO and Paris Accord have fueled outrage and demonstrations. Over half – 57.8% – warn of setbacks in tackling public health crises and climate challenges on a planetary scale.

The US’s $260 million debt to the WHO draws sharp calls from 81.9% for prompt settlement. By 2026, America plans further retreats from international frameworks in health, environment, education, culture, refugee support, and development sustainability.

Critics are vocal: 83.4% decry the US as an ‘irresponsible leading power,’ with 85.3% linking ‘America First’ to a tarnished global image. As multilateralism faces tests, this survey highlights the urgent need for renewed commitment to shared global responsibilities.
