Bihar’s development engine roared louder in Samastipur as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on his Samriddhi Yatra, rolled out 188 ambitious projects on Thursday. Hosted at the district’s Government Engineering College, the event combined virtual inaugurations with personal inspections, injecting Rs 827 crore into local growth corridors.

Breakdown of the bounty: foundation stones for Rs 470 crore in 71 schemes, unveilings of Rs 273 crore across 74 projects, and launches of Rs 84 crore in 43 initiatives. From roads to education hubs, the focus was on sustainable infrastructure.

Kumar’s campus walkthrough at Sarairanjan College buzzed with energy as he chatted with students mid-lecture, stressing tech proficiency for life’s big leaps. The adjacent language lab, teaching tongues from across the globe, earned his nod for fostering worldly wisdom.

Innovation stalls brimmed with promise—local startups, departmental displays, and Jivika Didis’ crafts. The CM’s praise flowed freely, culminating in Rs 437 crore cheques for 23,472 women from self-help groups. ‘Your hard work inspires; government’s got your back,’ he declared.

Pensioners shared stories of relief, while agri-tech at Borlaug Institute showcased multiple cropping demos. Kumar mandated market access for micro-enterprises, boosting ‘vocal for local’. Hakimabad site visits to the RCC bridge and bypass reinforced his no-nonsense speed directive to engineers.

Dignitaries like Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit witnessed the proceedings, amplifying the high-level commitment.

This Samriddhi pitstop exemplifies Bihar’s blueprint: empower the youth, uplift women, innovate in farms, and build bridges—literally and figuratively—for a thriving tomorrow.
