Pressure mounting in WPL 2026, UP Warriors have handed RCB a 144-run challenge in their 18th league match at Vadodara’s BCA Stadium. With a precarious record of two wins from six, captain Meg Lanning’s team sent RCB in to field after losing the toss. The Warriors limped to 143 for 8, but Deepti Sharma’s unbeaten fifty offered hope.

Deepti and Lanning ignited the innings with an aggressive 74-run opening stand off 8.1 overs. Lanning’s entertaining 41 came off 30 balls, bludgeoned with six fours and a six. Post her dismissal, Deepti shouldered responsibility, scoring an impeccable 55 not out from 43 balls (6×4, 1×6). Contributions from Harleen Deol (14) and Simran Sheikh (10) helped, though the final overs saw a collapse of three wickets.

RCB’s bowlers fought back led by Nadine de Klerk’s impressive 4/22. Grace Harris took 2 wickets, with Lauren Bell and Shreyanka Patil accounting for one each.

Full UP Warriors squad: Lanning (c), Simran Sheikh, Amy Jones (wk), Harleen Deol, Chloe Tryon, Deepti Sharma, Shweta Sehrawat, Sophie Ecclestone, Asha Sobhana Joy, Shikha Pandey, Kranti Gaud. RCB’s playing XI under Mandhana: Grace Harris, Georgia Voll, Radha Yadav, Richa Ghosh (wk), Nadine de Klerk, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Sayali Satghare, Shreyanka Patil, Lauren Bell.

The chase promises drama as RCB aim to seal points while Warriors seek revival. Deepti’s resilience might just turn the tide.
