India’s capital transformed into a diplomatic hub as foreign ministers from across the Arab world arrived for the much-anticipated second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Scheduled for Saturday and co-hosted with the UAE, the summit revives a dialogue paused since 2016.

The MEA rolled out the red carpet starting Thursday. LAS chief Ahmed Abul Gheit led the early arrivals, followed by ministers from Comoros, Palestine, and Sudan. Social media updates from MEA celebrated these visits as milestones for bilateral progress.

Friday amplified the momentum with Qatar’s state minister Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi touching down, praised for fortifying strategic bonds. Libya’s Eltayeb Salem Elbouri and Somalia’s Abdisalam Ali were next, their roles seen as catalysts for deeper ties.

Somalia’s Ahmed Moalim Fiqi rounded out the key Friday arrivals, with MEA affirming the visit’s potential to enrich longstanding relations.

Ahead of the main event, the fourth India-Arab Senior Officials’ Meeting unfolded Friday, focusing on amplifying cooperation in critical areas like economy, energy, education, media, and culture—priorities set a decade ago in Bahrain.

This framework traces back to March 2002, when India and LAS signed an MoU to formalize exchanges. Now, with 22 Arab League members and the secretary-general in attendance, the IAFMM promises to elevate this institutional mechanism.

In a world of flux, these gatherings offer a platform for aligned visions on trade, security, and sustainable development. Outcomes could herald a new era of India-Arab synergy, benefiting millions across continents.
