Tension gripped the skies as an IndiGo passenger jet flying from Kuwait to Delhi made a precautionary landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad after crew discovered a bomb threat note. The episode, dated January 30, involved 186 individuals on board.

The alarming discovery—a tissue paper note hand-scribbled with warnings of a bomb and hijacking—triggered immediate action. Pilots, exemplifying professionalism, contacted control towers and opted for the nearest airport diversion. The landing was textbook flawless.

Passengers disembarked orderly into a cordoned secure zone. Security forces, forewarned, executed multi-layered inspections involving bomb squads, CISF, sniffer dogs, and thorough baggage scans. Airport Police Inspector N.D. Nakum reported, ‘Swift alerts to all agencies ensured a meticulous probe. No explosives or threats detected; aircraft cleared.’

Bolstered policing across the facility ensured continuity of other flights with negligible impact. The probe delves into the note’s authorship and insertion method, with officials vowing stringent measures based on findings.

This hoax-like incident reinforces the zero-tolerance stance on aviation threats in India. It spotlights robust protocols that prioritize safety, leaving passengers safe and operations back on track swiftly.
