From the heart of Anand’s Bhadran village, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel e-inaugurated panchayat bhawans-cum-patwari quarters for 2666 gram panchayats in a unified ceremony on Friday. Costing Rs 663 crore, this massive project promises efficient local governance and easy access to services for rural folks, staying true to PM Modi’s infrastructure-first approach for Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Patel emphasized Gujarat’s lead in implementing the PM’s 100% saturation strategy. ‘Our government is resolute in equipping every village with its own panchayat facility,’ he stated, ensuring no rural resident travels far for official work.
The occasion marked the rollout of Mukhyamantri Gramotthan Yojana statewide. Kicking off with 114 non-municipal taluka villages, it delivers premium infrastructure: enhanced roads, reliable water, hygiene standards, solar-powered lighting, e-services, and multipurpose halls rivaling urban setups.
Future phases target panchayats with 10,000+ populations, aiming to decongest cities and narrow the urban-rural gap. Patel lauded PM Modi’s leadership for supercharging development metrics, positioning rural revival as key to sustainable progress.
Conservation efforts shone through with ‘Catch the Rain’ initiatives for water harvesting and recharge, supported by MLA-specific Rs 50 lakh funds. Patel passionately advocated cow-based organic farming to heal land and nurture healthy progeny.
Paying homage on Shaheed Diwas and Gandhi Punyatithi, the CM drew from Bapu’s Gram Swaraj philosophy to fuel today’s self-reliance drive. Minister Rishikesh Patel spotlighted the CM-led construction boom, urging sarpanchs to emulate Bhadran’s all-round growth. Plans for 10,000 modern gram offices will operationalize Gandhi’s vision: ‘India’s spirit dwells in its villages.’
