Former India stumper Saba Karim isn’t mincing words: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old batting dynamo, is primed for the big league. His blistering form in U19 World Cup 2026 games—72, 40, and 52 runs—has Karim convinced it’s time for a national team promotion.

‘He’s exceptionally gifted. Seeing him perform brings immense happiness. Bring him into the Indian squad now,’ Karim emphasized in his interview.

Support structures are aligning perfectly. ‘State associations are vigilant, BCCI Center of Excellence is grooming him, and RR’s IPL scouts are impressed. National duty awaits soon,’ he predicted.

Suryavanshi’s IPL 2025 milestone for Rajasthan Royals remains legendary: a 35-ball hundred versus Gujarat Titans at age 14 years, 32 days—the youngest ever. It’s the joint-second quickest in IPL annals, pipped only by Gayle’s 30-ball special for RCB in 2013.

Turning to the upcoming T20 World Cup from February 7, hosted by India and Sri Lanka, Karim exuded optimism. ‘India dominates T20 and ODIs. We’ll win easily. Test format demands improvement.’

From Patna’s streets to potential stardom, Suryavanshi embodies cricket’s next generation, with Karim’s advocacy adding momentum.
