In a twist to the Oshiwara firing saga, controversial film personality Kamal R. Khan (KRK) walked out of custody after posting a 25,000-rupee bond. The Andheri court decision comes swiftly, only a week after Mumbai Police took him into custody over the residential gunfire episode.

The night of January 23 turned tense for Oshiwara locals when two shots rang out from a building shared by filmmaker Neeraj Kumar Mishra and model Prateek Vaidya. Miraculously, the bullets caused no harm, but the incident sparked a full-scale police operation.

Fingerprints led straight to KRK’s doorstep. Detained post-interrogation, he was quizzed relentlessly, with officers recreating the scene and securing his gun along with live rounds. KRK insisted to interrogators that it was a cleaning accident, devoid of malicious intent.

Court proceedings saw his team allege a conspiracy fueled by his Bollywood barbs, proposing an unknown perpetrator instead. They refuted police evidence as misleading. This episode adds to KRK’s notorious track record of controversies from social media rants.

As the investigation unfolds, this bail underscores judicial caution in arms-related cases. It raises broader debates on licensed firearms in Mumbai’s bustling suburbs, where one errant shot can ignite public fear. Expect more revelations as forensics and witness statements pour in.
