    Thrilling Finish to Sabour’s Inter-College Sports Carnival 2026

    Excitement peaked at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, as the curtains fell on its action-packed three-day inter-college sports and cultural meet on Friday. A massive turnout of 503 competitors from 11 teams spanning 10 colleges infused the fields and stages with passion, adhering strictly to the ethos of fair play.

    This flagship annual spectacle not only entertained but also opened doors for elite athletes to compete at the national ICAR sports in New Delhi. Cultural segments saw students dazzling with skill, elevating their colleges’ prestige.

    Sports supremacy went to Sabour’s postgraduate squad from Bihar Agricultural College, who topped with 60 points and a medal chest of 8 golds, 4 silvers, 4 bronzes. Undergrads from the same institution grabbed runner-up spot with 48 points. Individual stars included Ankita of Agricultural Biotechnology College, Sabour (best female), and Pratap Kumar of Ara’s Agricultural Engineering College (best male).

    Closing matches were nail-biters: Badminton girls’ won by Dr. Kalam, Kishanganj over Sabour; boys’ by Sabour postgrads over Dr. Kalam. Table tennis mirrored this in girls’ (Dr. Kalam over Mandan Bharti, Saharsa) and boys’ (Sabour over Veer Kunwar Singh, Dumraon). Volleyball men’s to Mandan Bharti; kabaddi girls’ to Veer Kunwar Singh, boys’ to Sabour.

    In arts, Sabour postgrads clinched overall cultural title, undergrads second, led by best performer Ali Asaba. Group performances solidified their positions.

    Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded in a grand ceremony. Dr. Shweta Shambhavi, Student Welfare Director, lauded the program’s impact on discipline and growth. Deans, directors, and other officials joined in congratulating the young talents.
