BJP firebrand Shazia Ilmi has unleashed a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi over his ‘traitor friend’ slur against Union MoS Ravneet Bittu in Parliament. ‘These words are intolerable and unbecoming of a Leader of Opposition,’ Ilmi declared, urging restraint in political discourse.
Ilmi highlighted the hypocrisy in demonizing party switchers. ‘Switching allegiances is routine; it doesn’t make one a traitor,’ she pointed out, cautioning that such barbs erode Gandhi’s authority.
On Mamata Banerjee’s Supreme Court fiasco, Ilmi accused her of belittling the judiciary as a ‘WhatsApp commission,’ a move that betrays her contempt for constitutional sanctity amid her reliance on illegal immigrant votes.
Addressing Basti’s conversion racket led by Shama Bano, Ilmi labeled it unconstitutional and un-Islamic. ‘No verse in the Quran supports conversion through force or intimidation,’ she affirmed.
Ilmi lauded PM Modi’s empowerment mantra for Muslims via education—Quran alongside computers—for jobs and integration. Regarding madrasa inspections in UP, she called it imperative to audit curricula, funding sources, and teaching methods to safeguard children’s futures.
