Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan painted a bright picture on Wednesday, stating students’ groundbreaking ideas will define the state’s trajectory ahead. Inaugurating the ‘CM-YIP Meet’ and engaging with Young Innovators Programme victors, he called for bridging academia with real-life societal fixes.
The CM was thrilled by preteens and teens diagnosing issues like home-based troubles, commuting woes, and healthcare gaps, then innovating solutions that work. Such proactive steps enhance their belief in themselves and promise real change.
Vijayan linked these innovations to the grand plan for New Kerala. Conversations veered to global education dreams, with emphasis on a fraud-proof system via NORKA, including a user-friendly app to vet international colleges’ legitimacy.
Kerala’s leadership is steadfast in propelling higher education to world-class levels, evident in universities’ surging national stature. Shifting gears, he advised students to foster startups over mere job quests, creating opportunities for others.
Kerala’s serene, steady social landscape continues luring big money, as per Vijayan. He detailed a powerhouse group’s ₹3 lakh crore investment pitch, attributing their choice to the state’s unmatched peace— a core asset to nurture.
In a candid moment, Vijayan opened up about battling obstacles to finish his schooling and graduation, resonating deeply. The programme spotlighted prototypes from 300+ YIP stars, capped with certificate ceremonies.
K-DISC-orchestrated YIP is now the planet’s biggest innovation platform, uniting 1.2 million from ages 13-37 with tech and funding to birth functional prototypes from raw concepts.
