Tripura’s healthcare landscape is evolving rapidly, thanks to Chief Minister Manik Saha’s strategic embrace of telemedicine. During Thursday’s 62nd ‘Mukhyamantri Sura Samipeshu’ at his official residence, Saha outlined how digital health solutions are enabling advanced care for the state’s vulnerable populations.
Dozens of attendees from across Tripura voiced concerns ranging from chronic illnesses to emergencies. As Health Minister and a dental professional, Saha responded with precision, directing officials to act without delay.
‘Our government stands resolute in delivering quality healthcare,’ he affirmed. ‘Telemedicine is pivotal, offering specialized consultations remotely and minimizing the need for patients to seek treatment elsewhere.’
A highlight was the Rs 4 lakh aid cheque presented to Anukul Das from Anandnagar, aiding his family after a heartbreaking loss. Saha’s attentiveness extended to individual cases, ensuring tangible outcomes.
Immediate medical support was mandated for Bijnakanya Malsom of West Taichalong, Amarpur, for her father’s treatment. Critical patients Swapna Pal (Ganki, Khowai) and Biswajit Dhar (Dharmanagar), suffering from complex aplastic anemia, were prioritized for specialized interventions.
Others from Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Singerbil sought help for heart diseases and serious conditions, receiving the CM’s pledge of unwavering support. Attending dignitaries included Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Social Welfare Secretary Tapas Roy, and Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury.
This session exemplifies Saha’s governance style: accessible, responsive, and forward-thinking. Telemedicine’s integration promises to overhaul Tripura’s health infrastructure, making expert care ubiquitous and affordable. As the state invests in such innovations, it not only heals bodies but also strengthens community resilience.
