Ranchi-based Jharkhand State Arogya Society took a compassionate stand on Friday, sanctioning up to 10 lakh rupees in aid for 21 individuals grappling with grave ailments under the Chief Minister’s Critical Illness Scheme. After scrutinizing 24 applications, the panel prioritized cases involving cancer, kidney failures requiring transplants, brain injuries, and more.
Patients are spread across the state—from Ranchi to Dhanbad and Jamshedpur—and beyond, seeking succor in elite medical hubs like Vellore’s Christian Medical College and Varanasi facilities. The financial boost is set to facilitate uninterrupted care, offering much-needed respite to their kin.
Pending physical assessments were ordered for three applicants: Sheikh Yunus of Dumaria (East Singhbhum), Sarojni Hassa from Khunti, and Komal Jaiswal of Amdapara in Pakur. To streamline processes ahead, every new claim will demand fresh medical certificates, hospital quotations, and surgeon validations.
As the Hemant Soren-led government ramps up such initiatives, economically weaker sections stand to gain immensely, paving the way for a more resilient public health system in Jharkhand that prioritizes timely intervention over bureaucratic hurdles.
