The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has scripted a visionary roadmap for growth, unveiling key resolutions at a high-level meeting in Jammu led by Chairman and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. These steps promise to revolutionize devotee experiences, foster local prosperity, and cement the shrine’s status among global spiritual icons.
A highlight is the approval of the Shakti Sangrahalaya, an international museum honoring Maa Shakti’s heritage, to rise in Katra’s Natoli with Asian Heritage Foundation’s support. It marks a milestone as the area’s inaugural multi-faceted religious-cultural-educational venue. The board also okayed a hi-tech sound-light show and a documentary, inspired by international pilgrimage gems.
To streamline operations, vacancies across sectors will be filled soon via recruitment drives. Local talent gets a leg up with a no-cost NEET center. Adhering to NGT guidelines, phased rehab for pilgrimage service providers like pony operators is underway.
Boosting arrivals and yatra satisfaction, a specialized panel was instituted. Inclusive policies prioritize SHG, female, and youth-led supplies, channeling pooja needs locally for economic vigor. Sinha stressed developing Katra into a pristine, lively city with robust infrastructure, aiding dwellers and throngs of pilgrims.
The board stepped up for Jammu’s sports scene, blending physical prowess with devotion. Pilgrim insurance doubled to Rs 10 lakhs amid safety focus. Progress on vital projects—path expansions, new edifices, temple builds—was assessed, with deadlines firmly set. Key members and officials were present.
