In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang tore into Congress, calling them enemies of Hindu culture who have now begun distributing Hijri calendars to Muslims. This, he said, exemplifies their boundless appetite for minority appeasement.
‘Congress routinely attacks Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, festivals, and revered saints,’ Sarang told reporters. ‘Distributing Islamic calendars is their latest ploy. Name one time a Congress leader celebrated Hindu traditions with distributed materials.’
He exposed their chameleon-like behavior: flaunting janeu during campaigns to woo Hindus, then secretly prioritizing Muslim interests. ‘They scream “Bhagwa politics” at BJP’s Hindu events but openly pander with Hijri calendars,’ Sarang fumed.
Sarang didn’t spare the Ram Mandir issue. ‘They opposed the temple, denied Lord Ram’s existence in court affidavits, yet push Islamic calendars. It’s textbook vote-bank manipulation and a slap to Hindu sentiments.’
The BJP stalwart warned that the public has seen through this two-faced strategy. Congress will stoop to any level for minority votes.
Triggering the outburst was Congress’s Manoj Shukla in Narela, who printed 50,000 Hijri calendars for mosques and Muslim homes in a constituency with 28% Muslim voters (over 1 lakh). Congress hails it as syncretic culture; BJP condemns it as radicalism promotion.
