NOIDA Authority is transforming the city’s mobility landscape with a bold, daily anti-encroachment initiative designed to liberate roads and footpaths from illegal takeovers. What started as a response to persistent complaints has evolved into a structured, machinery-backed operation spanning all 10 work circles.
On the inaugural day, clearance teams targeted congestion hotspots: from Zonal Road 3 and DSC Road to Sectors 34, 35, 44, 51, 63-66, 70, 71, 93A, 124, 126, 150, and 155-156, including Gejha Tilpatabad and under Bhangel Elevated Road. JCBs and dumpers efficiently razed roadside stalls and unauthorized structures, paving the way for smoother traffic.
Residents and RWAs are applauding the effort, recounting tales of prolonged gridlocks and safety hazards due to vendor sprawl. Industrial groups and FONRWA echoed these sentiments, pushing for the very action now underway.
Equipped with zone-specific heavy equipment, the authority guarantees continuity. ‘This isn’t a one-off; it’s our new routine to keep NOIDA orderly and safe,’ stated officials. Violations will draw firm repercussions, while community support is sought to prevent re-encroachments.
As NOIDA sets this benchmark, the ripple effects could inspire similar drives elsewhere, proving that consistent enforcement can reclaim public realms for their rightful users.
