Tensions gripped Aman Colony in Bhopal’s Nishatpura area as police executed a surprise pre-dawn raid on the notorious Iranian Dera. Around 400 officers mobilized at 2 AM Tuesday, sealing off the neighborhood to prevent any fugitives from slipping away.
House-to-house searches uncovered a nest of criminals, resulting in over 40 detentions, including female suspects. Many face charges in high-profile cases across states beyond Madhya Pradesh.
Standing out was the arrest of wanted man Shahaadat, whose capture netted a Rs 1.38 lakh reward after a prolonged manhunt. The raid was commanded by DCP Mayur Khandelwal, with a robust team of deputies and inspectors, supervised by Commissioner Sanjay Kumar.
This follows closely on the heels of apprehending syndicate boss Abid Ali alias Rahman Dakait from the same location a month prior. His gang’s tentacles reached 14 states, perpetrating loot, scams, ransom demands, identity frauds, incendiary attacks, and murder plots. MCOCA charges in Maharashtra highlighted his elusiveness, aided by disguises as CBI agents, uniformed cops, or ascetics preying on devotees.
As questioning intensifies, officials anticipate vital leads. The operation marks a significant victory for Bhopal police, reinforcing their resolve to eradicate crime dens and restore community safety.
