The Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly buzzed with optimism Wednesday as Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the ambitious 2026-27 budget. Leading the chorus of approval, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya positioned it as the key to a ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh’, seamlessly aligning with PM Modi’s national development agenda.
Drawing from the ethos of inclusive growth, the budget empowers the poor, youth, women, and farmers – the state’s foundational pillars. Maurya noted its role in fostering ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, promising equitable progress across urban and rural divides.
In a nod to cultural heritage, Maurya praised the Centre’s fresh directives on reciting ‘Vande Mataram’, a momentous recognition of its 150-year legacy penned by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
Fellow minister Jayveer Singh highlighted the budget’s collaborative spirit and strategic planning, offering a blueprint for a developed state. He advocated for non-partisan support for ‘Vande Mataram’, describing it as an ode to patriotism and devotion.
Nitin Agarwal stressed the budget’s adherence to core governance principles, focusing on upliftment for vulnerable sections. Ashish Singh Patel commended the comprehensive coverage of sectors like education, infrastructure, social services, and job creation, fulfilling long-standing public expectations.
Sanjay Nishad proclaimed it a historic financial package under CM Yogi’s stewardship, designed to crown UP as India’s premier state. With substantial outlays and forward-thinking policies, this budget is more than numbers – it’s a commitment to sustainable transformation, poised to reshape Uttar Pradesh’s trajectory for generations.
