Swift police action in Bihar’s Vaishali district has dismantled a potential sex trafficking setup, with raids on two hotels leading to the rescue of three women, arrests of three perpetrators, and custody of a minor. The incident highlights ongoing efforts to combat exploitation in semi-urban areas.
The targeted venues—Abhishek Vaishali Hotel and The Royal Cafe & Restaurant in Kharouna Pokhar—fell under Vaishali thana oversight. Hotel management purportedly exploited the sites for carnal abuse to generate revenue. Upon receiving intelligence, SDPO Sadar-02 (Lalgunj) assembled a mixed team of senior officers and female constables, executing a flawless raid that secured the women’s safety.
Apprehended suspects are Neeraj Kumar, Mukesh Sahni from Vaishali, and Mahesh Mahto from neighboring Saran. From the scene, police confiscated five mobiles, over Rs 2,000 cash, receipts, a ledger, and a wristwatch—key pieces in building the case now filed at Vaishali station.
Separately, Rohtas district police descended on Bikramganj’s red-light district in Dhangai village, where women were observed in dance and song routines. Six detentions followed, involving four mature women associated with wedding orchestras. SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh described it as routine enforcement, with further inquiries to prevent recurrence and uphold moral standards.
