Actress Mrunal Thakur turned heads at the promo trail for her latest venture, ‘Do Diwane Sheher Mein,’ by dropping a profound observation on modern love’s biggest foe: the communication void.
In an era drowning in connectivity, Thakur sees a counterintuitive crisis. ‘Social media and apps offer infinite avenues, but they breed fatigue,’ she explained. ‘Couples hide behind screens, opting for typed words over spoken ones, which dilutes the intimacy that sustains relationships.’
From her vantage as a leading lady, Thakur discussed the perils of method acting. Intense roles demand emotional investment, yet she guards her off-screen world fiercely. ‘I consciously unplug from work’s mental strain to nurture genuine ties with loved ones,’ she affirmed.
Wistfully, she contrasted today’s frenzy with yesteryear’s romance, citing Bhagyashree’s tales of patient courtship. ‘Weekly PCO calls were events of pure joy,’ Thakur noted. ‘The wait amplified emotions, creating enduring love stories. Now, despite video calls and constant pings, bonds crumble under superficiality.’
Capturing this tension, ‘Do Diwane Sheher Mein’ boasts a stellar cast including Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sandhya Mhatre, and Aaysha Raza. Backed by Jio Studios, Bhansali Productions, and Ravi Udyawar Films, and guided by directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal, and Bharat Kumar Ranga, the romantic drama releases February 20. Thakur’s commentary not only hypes the film but sparks a broader dialogue on reclaiming conversation in love.
