Rural Surguja celebrates as Adani Vidya Mandir earns the elite ‘Clean and Green School of the District’ title under India’s Green and Clean School program. Emerging first among 2,365+ inspected schools, it garnered a flawless 5-star rating for outstanding standards in education, hygiene, and eco-preservation.
The accolade was bestowed by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Republic Day 77, with District Collector Ajit Vasant, Rajesh Agarwal, and education leaders in attendance. Dr. T.L. Verma, Vice Principal, represented the school.
Standout scores included 100% for hand hygiene and Mission LiFE, alongside 95.24% maintenance, 90% clean habits, 90.91% water safety, and 85.19% toilets—district-best results.
Two years of innovation brought purified water systems, rainwater harvesting, 80 KVA solar energy, kitchen gardens, and pristine facilities. Health screenings, counseling, and handwashing promotions, driven by students, have fostered a green, secure haven.
Educating 1,040 students, it’s the lone CBSE school nearby (35 km) and Chhattisgarh’s only NABET-certified one, validated by the Quality Council of India for quality excellence.
Meals are a community effort by MUBSS women’s group (250+ members), with 17 women crafting daily nutrition for 1,000: fruit-milk breakfasts, diverse lunches with cereals, legumes, grains, flats, produce, and soy proteins—nurturing bodies and livelihoods.
