Prominent Islamic leader Maulana Kari Ishak Gora has taken umbrage at RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s invocation of ‘Ghar Wapsi’, terming it inappropriate for a leader of his caliber. From Saharanpur, the Jamiat Dawat-ul-Muslimeen patron highlighted how such rhetoric plays into the hands of those peddling religion-based politics.
‘Bhagwat is wise and revered; his words matter nationwide. This statement seems like a slip, possibly with hidden intentions,’ Gora told media, noting an old video of Arshad Madani being misrepresented in the fallout.
He condemned efforts by vested interests to incite unrest, fragment society through terror tactics, and weaken India. ‘These divisive tactics are reprehensible and must stop,’ the scholar stressed.
On the heels of ‘The Kerala Story-2’ uproar, Gora slammed Bollywood’s shift to agenda-driven cinema that demonizes groups via ‘Love Jihad’ myths. ‘The industry has squandered its reputation with fear-inducing, community-targeting films. The truth is out—people won’t be fooled,’ he said.
In a nation striving for unity, Gora’s call for sobriety in public discourse serves as a timely reminder amid rising polarization.
