In a move blending heritage celebration and national development discourse, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan heads to Tamil Nadu on February 22 for a packed schedule. Madurai’s Vandipuram will host the foundation ceremony for V.O. Chidambaram Pillai’s statue, immortalizing the freedom fighter’s legacy.
His itinerary further encompasses the sacred Thirukostiyur Soumya Narayana Perumal Temple and Rani Velu Nachiyar Palace in Shivaganga, sites steeped in Tamil history and spirituality.
Preceding the tour, Radhakrishnan marked International Mother Language Day by unveiling Constitution translations in Tamil and Gujarati, plus the eighth Legal Terminology edition. ‘These efforts make our democracy’s cornerstone available in native tongues, boosting awareness and involvement,’ he remarked, lauding Tamil’s literary antiquity and Gujarati’s cultural profundity.
The Ministry of Law and Justice received praise for broadening access to the Constitution across India’s diverse populace.
Speaking at Bharat Mandapam’s National CSR Summit 2026, he championed cross-sector partnerships: ‘Collaborative action propels society and nation forward, especially now.’
He detailed India’s strides under PM Modi—from fourth to soon third-largest global economy—fueled by reforms lifting 250 million from poverty via inclusive policies, digital integration, and infra growth. ‘Next-phase success hinges on government, business, and civil society’s deep alliance,’ Radhakrishnan concluded.
This visit underscores a commitment to cultural preservation amid rapid national evolution, setting a tone for unified progress.
