Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has proclaimed the Meerut Metro launch and Namo Bharat rapid rail corridor as a shining milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s ascent to development excellence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high-profile visit to Meerut on February 22 will bring these game-changing projects to life, alongside a bounty of other initiatives.
Taking to X, Yogi Adityanath heralded the occasion: ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi will accelerate the new Uttar Pradesh’s journey by flagging off Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat from revolutionary Meerut. The district will be gifted projects worth Rs 12,930 crore.’
Central to the events is the dedication of the 82 km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and the inauguration of RRTS extensions, establishing a model for seamless urban-regional mobility.
BJP leader Sanjay Seth chimed in on X, predicting transformative impacts: shorter travel durations between Delhi and Meerut, fortified economic corridors, thriving commerce, fresh investments, and abundant jobs.
PM Modi set the stage with his own X update, committing to nationwide rail enhancements. His schedule includes launching the swift Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat train at approximately 12:30 PM, dedicating the full corridor, and kickstarting numerous projects.
This infusion of transit innovation addresses longstanding connectivity gaps in the National Capital Region, promoting sustainable growth and inclusivity. Meerut, long a hub of freedom struggles, now emerges as a beacon of modern infrastructure, drawing parallels between its historic valor and today’s developmental zeal.
The ripple effects extend to environmental benefits from efficient rail systems, reduced road dependency, and bolstered real estate and industrial prospects. Uttar Pradesh’s vision of a ‘New UP’ gains tangible form, setting benchmarks for other states to emulate.
