A chilling daylight murder has gripped Jamtara district after a 40-year-old driver met a violent end at a local dhaba. Furkan Ansari from Dharmpur village was targeted by three bike-borne assailants near Narayanpur’s Dharmpur Mor on Sunday, igniting widespread alarm.
The attack happened around 9 AM as Ansari settled in for breakfast. The masked trio arrived on an Apache motorcycle, firing point-blank into his face before celebratory shots into the sky. They fled as pandemonium broke out, with locals ferrying the bleeding victim to Jamtara Sadar Hospital in vain.
Police response was immediate: three shell casings were collected from the bloodied scene, and the postmortem process initiated. Raids are underway in nearby areas to nab the perpetrators, whose identities remain elusive.
Grieving kin and agitated villagers thronged the hospital, slamming authorities for failing to prevent such audacity. While motives are under scrutiny—ranging from personal grudges to deeper conflicts—this slaying exposes vulnerabilities in law enforcement, urging a robust crackdown on armed criminals terrorizing Jharkhand’s hinterlands.
