Telangana Police delivered swift justice by cracking the enigmatic death of author and online influencer Boggula Srinivas, pinning the crime on his confidant who deployed hired killers.
The discovery on February 14 in Khammam’s Palair reservoir painted a grim picture: Srinivas’s lifeless body inside a sunken car. Eyewitness fishermen reported a driver leaping out, suggesting a getaway after an accident. Yet, telltale head trauma spotted by forensics shifted gears to murder.
A native of Alluru in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal, the 48-year-old made waves with his bold 2014 publication ‘Remove Pawan Kalyan – Save Politics’, earning him threats. Family doubts fueled the case registration, culminating in arrests after exhaustive inquiries.
Prime suspect Venu Madhav Reddy, along with hitmen P. Koteshwar Rao, Sheikh Abdul Hafiz, and Ajmat Ali, fell into the net. The feud stemmed from GST fraud: Reddy exploited Srinivas’s account for deals, then balked at settling dues when authorities came knocking.
As Srinivas pressed for payment while heading to Vijayawada via Nalgonda’s Narkatpalli, the assassins struck. They then staged the scene by plunging the vehicle into the water. Khammam police, led by APC Tirupati Reddy, exposed the plot through meticulous evidence gathering.
All four are detained, with proceedings underway. This resolution not only closes a dark chapter but highlights vulnerabilities in digital-age financial trusts and the perils faced by outspoken voices.
