GUNTUR: Over 9,000 rural postmen heard Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia pledge a robust future for India Post during a major conference, positioning Andhra Pradesh at the vanguard of this national renewal.
Joined by CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, Scindia shared heartfelt memories of their long-standing ties, rooted in Naidu’s partnerships with his grandmother Vijaya Raje and father Madhavrao Scindia.
He drew family connections to the region, mentioning a town named Sindhia and his ancestor’s pioneering shipbuilding ventures along the pre-independence Andhra coastline.
Scindia lauded GDS workers as India’s radiant gems, intimately aware of rural woes and dreams. They deliver unwavering service across diverse terrains—from J&K’s mountains to AP’s beaches—forming the vital conduit in more than 650,000 villages.
In his prior role, he introduced practical aids: umbrellas, shoes, stationery, bicycle grants. Crucially, a 2009 gazette ensured GDS children’s entry into KV schools.
With 38 crore post office savings accounts holding Rs 22 lakh crore, public faith is evident.
Embracing PM Modi’s transformative vision, India Post is modernizing swiftly. Andhra’s growth economy will spearhead the parcels boom driven by agriculture exports, MSMEs, and e-commerce surge. The expansive 1.65 lakh post office network guarantees competitive edge.
