Madhya Pradesh is set for an agricultural renaissance, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav outlining a holistic roadmap from soil to shelf. During his video address to the Krishi Manthan and Agri-Tech Expo 2026 at Gwalior Agricultural University, he stressed uniting the entire value addition ecosystem for farmer prosperity.
Portraying farmers as indispensable economic pillars, Yadav noted their role in bustling trade hubs. The landmark 2026 Farmer Welfare Year will pioneer integrated chains encompassing processing industries, advanced seeds, livestock, dairy, and fish farming expansions.
Irrigation infrastructure is surging ahead with National River Linking initiatives, bolstering yields. The state is aggressively promoting medicinal herbs and spices, with an Agri-Export Policy slated for imminent launch to tap global markets.
Research investments will surge, equipping farmers with tools to profit from field crops and orchards alike. No effort will be spared in making agriculture a thriving business, Yadav assured.
Under the banner ‘Rich Farmers, Rich Madhya Pradesh,’ the event will catalyze reforms through expert deliberations. The government’s strategy targets value chains in hi-tech farming, horticulture, dairy, and fisheries, alongside tech upgrades and youth-led ventures for job multiplication.
Acknowledging climate vulnerabilities, Yadav encouraged scientific brainstorming for next-gen solutions, fortifying MP’s agri-future against uncertainties.
