KOLKATA – West Bengal’s law and order has hit rock bottom, according to CPI(M) leader Gargi Chatopadhyay, who minced no words in condemning the Mamata Banerjee regime Tuesday. Addressing the media, she slammed police for acting like ‘mute spectators’ to rampant lawlessness.
Chatopadhyay revealed how state forces prioritize the Chief Minister’s safety over public security, fostering an environment where criminals thrive unchecked. ‘Law and order is being ridiculed daily,’ she stated, citing the RG Kar fiasco as a stark example of governmental inaction on terror and crime.
‘This state is turning into a safe haven for dacoits and thieves,’ she asserted, pinning full accountability on Banerjee. The leader further alleged a covert alliance between TMC and BJP, manipulating voter list revisions to their advantage.
Neither party, she insisted, has Bengal’s interests at heart, prompting CPI(M)’s relentless push for scrutiny of electoral rolls. With protests planned against the Centre’s political games, Chatopadhyay’s call to action highlights the urgent need for systemic overhaul amid escalating chaos.
