Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad expressed profound sorrow over the Saryu River’s dire condition, which he links unequivocally to the government’s erroneous strategies. The iconic waterway, vital to Hindu mythology, risks vanishing as its waters recede and shift to Gonda, leaving Ayodhya parched.
During a candid conversation, Prasad highlighted the absurdity at Ram Ki Paidi, devoid of flow and reliant on manual pumping. ‘This is the BJP’s policy fallout—hollow vows ignoring people’s needs,’ he asserted.
Invoking Puranic references, he insisted on rechristening Ghaghara as Saryu. ‘We’ll accomplish this in 24 hours upon forming government, boosting its prominence too,’ he promised. Restoration of the river’s path to Ayodhya was another key demand for seamless pilgrim rituals.
Prasad didn’t spare the bulldozer controversy in Ayodhya, noting his repeated parliamentary pleas. ‘Illegal home destructions and land grabs tarnish the city’s sanctity,’ he fumed, vowing discussions with Akhilesh Yadav and nationwide awareness to combat these injustices.
