Ahead of Holi, Chhattisgarh’s farmers are in for a festive surprise: over ₹10,000 crore will be credited to their accounts this Saturday. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, addressing a group of thankful farmers at his office, reiterated that farmer prosperity is central to Viksit Bharat.
Under Krishi Unnati Yojana, the payment addresses the gap in paddy support price. Procured at a record ₹3,100/quintal for 21 quintals/acre, the state absorbed 141 lakh metric tonnes from 25.24 lakh farmers this season.
Reflecting on historical reforms, Sai credited Atal ji’s KCC for low-interest loans, replacing usurious private lending. Coupled with interest-free capital and surging irrigation under PM schemes, the agricultural landscape is evolving rapidly.
Bilaspur will initiate the transfer on February 28, with joyous events across development blocks. Sai vowed ongoing dedication to annadatas, turning policy into palpable joy.
This strategic infusion of funds not only honors procurement commitments but invigorates rural markets, enhances livelihoods, and fortifies food security, painting a brighter picture for India’s farming future.
