Gujarat is on the cusp of a technological revolution, with four of the globe’s leading hi-tech sectors choosing the state as their Indian base, according to Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia. During the state budget discussions for 2026-27, he credited the government’s strategic fiscal policies and infrastructure push for this achievement.
These efforts are attracting investments and reversing the flight of talent, as professionals flock back to contribute to local growth. The minister spotlighted the Micron Semiconductor plant’s launch in Sanand by PM Modi as a game-changer for India’s tech sector.
Modhwadia recounted Gujarat’s and India’s exemplary pandemic handling, developing three vaccines swiftly and distributing them free to 140 crore people, plus international assistance. In agriculture, the state has procured peanuts for Rs 15,000 crore and provided instant Rs 11,000 crore aid to monsoon-affected farmers across 16,000 villages via direct transfers.
Digital innovation empowers farmers with instant online land records access, eliminating bureaucratic hurdles. Gujarat’s disciplined budgeting ensures sustained progress, making it a beacon for high-tech investments.
