Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s release in the liquor policy case alongside Manish Sisodia has been met with sharp Congress rebuttal. Senior leader Sandeep Dikshit downplayed its significance, insisting Delhi’s political fate hinges not on Kejriwal’s jail status but on broader electoral strategies.
In a pointed interview, Dikshit unveiled what he calls an exposed BJP-AAP understanding. ‘Kejriwal’s bailout yesterday validates our claims of collusion,’ he asserted. Having forecasted the verdict, he linked it to BJP’s ploy to deploy AAP against Congress in forthcoming Punjab and Uttarakhand battles.
Neither accepting their innocence nor alleging court meddling, Dikshit scrutinized the CBI’s handling. ‘Two years of investigation, yet no solid case? It reeks of orchestration,’ he observed, contrasting it with robust probes elsewhere.
Addressing Youth Congress chief Uday Bhanu Chib’s bail post-AI Summit protest, Dikshit decried the arrest as undemocratic. ‘Opposition rallies are routine – remember BJP shredding documents before Manmohan Singh?’ he reminded. He advocated for traditional handling of dissent: short detentions without escalation. ‘Courts will set this right,’ he predicted confidently.
Dikshit’s analysis paints a picture of calculated politics, where legal outcomes serve as electoral weapons, leaving Delhi voters to navigate the intrigue.
