Saturday’s National Science Day brought Sampoorna Abhiyan 2.0 to life in Sheikhpura’s Sarva Panchayat at Anganwadi No. 156, highlighting science’s role in public health. Aimed at aspirational zones from February to April, the drive promotes vigilance on nutrition and wellness.
The gathering drew Munni Kumari, Deputy Development Commissioner, District Planning Officer, ICDS head, Jivika DPM, Barhiga’s BDO and Circle Officer, Referral Hospital chief, and CDPO. Leaders outlined priorities: bolstering maternal-infant care, TB screening, reliable nutrition aid, and Anganwadi enhancements.
Cultural moments shone with godh bharai for pregnancies and annaprashan rituals, enriched by guidance on maternal and child health safeguards. Kids up to six years got learning kits; adolescents absorbed lessons on sustenance, sanitation, and potable water, receiving period kits.
Health squads conducted anemia tests, provided treatments, and focused on menstrual cleanliness and balanced eating. Open defecation’s health hazards were exposed, with calls for consistent toilet adoption. Anganwadi and medical experts addressed nursing mothers, pregnant women, and teens, stressing integrated health—nutrition paired with hygiene, safety, and exercise.
They proclaimed mothers and adolescents as society’s health pillars. Through interactive sessions, the initiative sowed seeds for community-wide transformation in health consciousness.
