Bihar’s political landscape buzzed as Minister Dilip Jaiswal firmly endorsed the Election Commission’s voter list revision in West Bengal amid SIR controversies. In Patna, he detailed how the process ensures transparency, safeguarding every legitimate elector’s franchise.
‘Updating lists by removing deceased or repeated names is standard procedure,’ Jaiswal told media. ‘The EC guarantees reinstatement for any overlooked valid voter, upholding democratic principles.’
He took a swipe at TMC’s four Rajya Sabha hopefuls, calling them out of touch elitists. ‘These aren’t public servants; they’re imports with no voter connect, handpicked by the party brass,’ Jaiswal charged.
Commenting on Kejriwal’s AAP event at Jantar Mantar, Jaiswal pointed to the high court’s involvement. ‘An appeal is filed, and review is pending. The notice reflects that. Courts have history here—Kejriwal’s optimism might be short-lived.’
The session warmed up with birthday felicitations for Nitish Kumar. Jaiswal lauded the CM’s role in scripting Bihar’s success story in governance, development, and harmony, invoking divine blessings for longevity and vigor in public duty.
Vijay Chaudhary, another minister, reinforced the praise, envisioning Bihar’s ascent under Nitish’s guidance toward superior development, administration, and social equity.
