Advocating proactive steps, Dr. Singh urged the creation of a dedicated India-Delaware framework for advanced bio-manufacturing. He recommended a streamlined working group to actualize commitments in research partnerships, manufacturing enhancements, and startup vitality.
This forward-looking proposal arose from a meeting with a delegation spearheaded by Delaware Governor Matt Meyer at Sewa Tirth. Conversations centered on amplifying cooperation in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology realms, clean energy pursuits, and innovation-led economic expansion.
Dr. Singh expressed optimism about forging stronger bonds with US states endowed with dynamic innovation landscapes. He illuminated India’s burgeoning stature as an international powerhouse in biotech and pharmaceuticals, with capabilities extending across the R&D spectrum to economical, high-volume manufacturing.
India’s holistic innovation architecture—seamlessly interconnecting government, education, business, and startups—was a focal point. Dr. Singh lauded CSIR’s infrastructure of 37 laboratories and 7,500+ scientists, which forms the backbone of industrial R&D nationwide. Its contributions shine in national endeavors like green hydrogen projects, quantum innovations, life sciences explorations, and biopharmaceutical process innovations for critical drugs.
Highlighting Delaware’s bio-innovation hub, the minister pinpointed collaboration potentials in cutting-edge bio-fabrication, AI-driven operations, accelerated production tech, and futuristic biologics and vaccines, leveraging NIIMBL’s expertise. India’s cost-efficient manufacturing, allied with Delaware’s pharma industry adjacency, promises accessible solutions for biologics, biosimilars, and vaccines addressing worldwide health demands.
Governor Meyer celebrated Delaware’s historical prowess in science and industry, detailing its biopharma manufacturing strengths, port development, and investor-friendly ecosystem.
