Young Indian talent Anush Agarwal turned heads at the Belgium Dressage Events, launching her international career with scores that promise much for her Asian Games ambitions. Paired with Floriana and Flin, she demonstrated skill and synergy against top global competition.
Her debut came February 28 on the 8-year-old Floriana, entering 14th. Agarwal’s assured ride netted 68.85%, landing fourth overall and reflecting their polished teamwork right out of the gate.
On March 1, aboard 10-year-old Flin from the fifth spot, she surged to 70.3%—a standout personal mark that highlights her poise and progression in mere days.
Integral to her continental qualification drive, these events leave two more shots at glory. Agarwal enthused, ‘Belgium with Floriana was a landmark, proud moment. The high-caliber field sharpens every transition. I’m delighted with my horses’ trust and arena showings. Aiming high for the Asian Games, this debut is foundational.’
Shruti Vora represented India too, scoring 65.44% on Magnanimous for 14th place that first day.
Agarwal’s momentum from this European outing positions her strongly. As she hones her edge, expectations build for her to qualify alongside Vora, defending India’s 2023 Hangzhou triumphs—pandemic-postponed from 2022—and shining in 2026.
