Defence Minister Rajnath Singh rallied GRSE Limited staff in Kolkata today, urging the iconic shipbuilder to forge ahead with cutting-edge, tech-infused ships that will propel India towards its 2047 developed status.
Amid cheers from workers and kin at the shipyard premises, Singh painted a future where GRSE leads with innovation. ‘Technology defines our times—GRSE must build platforms exemplifying shipbuilding supremacy, aiding PM Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat,’ he asserted.
Honoring GRSE’s legacy, Singh spotlighted its role over 1.5 centuries in supplying potent vessels to safeguard India’s oceanic frontiers, while advancing industrial prowess and maritime economy.
In evocative terms, he likened a GRSE warship to a living testament of toil, ingenuity, accuracy, and national devotion from its creators. ‘You are not employees; you are architects of the nation,’ Singh affirmed, celebrating their prowess in overcoming odds through diligence.
Anticipating tougher terrains with evolving tech and competition, Singh motivated persistence: ‘Sustained commitment will make GRSE a global shipbuilding luminary.’
Cultural extravaganzas by attendees delighted the minister, whom he called a splendid mosaic of India’s unity in diversity and cultural splendor. The event saw participation from GRSE CMD Commodore P R Hari (Retd.) and senior officials.
